P5 – Maths: Busy Few Weeks!

We have been every busy in maths this last two weeks!

We have been learning about multiplication, division and how to decode word problems!

As you can see from our pictures we have used lots of different methods to do this!

We have been teaching each other, creating VLOGS, working in teams, creating Think-boards and even working in groups outside!

We are developing our ability to be open about learning and making mistakes in maths which is allowing us to learn more and push us further than we thought we could!

In every area we say that “It is okay to make mistakes” which is a very important message in our class!

P5 – Gym: Catching

In gym, we have now moved on to catching.  We had to work in a pair to breakdown how we catch so that we could teach other people in our class exactly how to catch a ball!

This allowed us the opportunity to be teachers and made us think of each step involved in catching a ball!

Why don’t you ask us to teach you too?

P5 – Literacy: Metaphors

In Literacy we have continued with our figurative language techniques.  We have looked at metaphors!

We worked in teams to explore what a metaphor was and to create some examples which we could use in our creative writing!

We have also been investigating our novel “The Chirstmasaurus” by Tom Fletcher to see which techniques he has used to grab our imagination!

P5 – Wellbeing Wheel: Safe

We have been continuing to explore the Wellbeing Wheel in Health and Wellbeing.  We looked at being Safe this week.  This time of year has the smallest amount of hours with sunlight, so we discussed how we could stay safe when out and about in this weather!

We watched a funny video all about staying safe at this time of year which gave us some amazing advice to ensure we all stay safe when out and about!
