Here are your literacy activities for the week. Remember you do what you can do. There is no expectation that you do it all. I’ve just given a variety of activities. If you haven’t started/completed our story writing challenge from a few weeks ago, why not make that your focus? I would really love to read anything you have created, however small.
Remember that JK Rowling’s new book can be read online. You also have an opportunity to draw characters that you can send in. Maybe your drawing will appear in the published book!

If you want to read an e-book then get someone at home to register on Oxford Owl- there are so many books of so many types to enjoy.
Get Spelling Blue Group/Red group – please complete the next unit in your workbook over the course of the week. Choose 10 words from that unit and make them your spelling focus. Ask someone to give you a spelling check on Friday. It’s up to you how you learn your spellings. You may prefer to simply remember the spellings or you may prefer to do Active Spelling. Below you will see a chart of some Active Spelling ideas – some are of more use than others. Remember we have used a variety in class.

Hi Amelia. Thanks for posting. What do you see missing from sentence 1 and 2? Also check the spelling of ‘you’re’. Remember that means ‘you are’.

Thanks for posting. Remember to use punctuation in your sentences. Also, think about using a connective or an opener to add a bit of interest.
1. One sunny day the golden retriever was sitting on the soft grass listening to the beautiful birds singing together as a family.
Along came a ugly grumpy, old cat that was annoyed with the dog that stole her precious top toytoy she was furious at him so they started chasing each other madly.
A very imaginative short story!
2. One miserable day, I saw a lonely cat sitting in the muddy grass all alone, crying. I was very upset so I decided to let it have shelter in my house!
