Remember an alternative to the Phonics part of literacy is to view the phonics lessons through the RWI youtube channel for children to follow along at home. These will be live Monday – Friday at the times listed below. Each sound workbook in your home learning pack will tell you at the top what set of sounds you are working on.
PHONICS – With a person at home use your pencil as your pointing stick and work your way through the speed sound sheet. Remember to challenge yourself and try to say the sounds in a different order.
Each of you have either set 2 or set 3 sounds in your home learning packs too. With someone at home say the sound and then the words underneath. Remember to say…

Above the stars I have written where these words have come from on Doorway Speller. For example to practice these words on doorways speller you would follow the link below.
It’s Monday again, I hope you had a nice weekend. Today on your timetable we have Numeracy, Literacy, Daily 15, Reading, Newsround and another Home Learning Challenge!
Board Sums
Triangles and Squares in your boards sums this week I am going to include a multiplication sum and a division sum too. This will give you the opportunity to practice these skills as we haven’t used these for a little while. Remember you can draw arrays or use sharing circles to help you answer these.
Circles
Last time we did lots of addition to 30 problems. We had to add two numbers together using a number line or Numicon to work out the answer. We already know that adding gives us more of something, but when we subtract what happens?
You can choose to click on subtraction to 10, 20 or 30.
Triangles and Squares
Today we are going to work on subtraction. Now remember subtraction is the opposite of addition.
Today we are going to practice double digit subtraction. It has been a little while since we did this together in class or in a group with Mrs Brankin. Watch the video below to help remind yourself of what to do.
Give these questions a go in your red maths jotter.
Here is a link to a game you can use to practice your subtraction.
Well done to everyone who took part in last weeks challenge!

Dundee Science Centre are celebrating Earth Week this week. They are adding home learning challenges to their website for children to complete at home.
It looks like some of these challenges may be aimed at older children and could be too difficult for us however there are some activities that look pretty fun! I think you will enjoy creating a bug hotel and the windmill making!
