Mr Lange has painted some famous pictures of The Discovery.

Today we were very lucky to have Mrs Lange help us paint our own pictures of The Discovery

We looked at the painting by Mr Lange, which he has kindly lent us , showing the Discovery around 1900.

We thought about what we might see in Dundee city centre today and  discussed the differences.

In class we have set up some learning stations. We will take turns in visiting each station in the next few weeks.

Some children are “working aboard the Discovery”, others completing jigsaw maps and locating Antarctica,  whilst others are creating models. Another station is a research station where children can research Antarctica, using the laptops. More children are playing games or completing workcards and a final station gives the opportunity to play with the model ships.

What fun we had, dancing at the festival at St. Andrew’s school on Friday.

All our practising proved useful as we were able to participate in most of the dances, even when there was a very fast version of the Canadian Barn dance!!

A fun way to keep healthy!

Having new laptops has made such a difference to our lessons in the ICT suite. Now we can all use computers at the same time!

Today some of us learned how to use a laptop and we all enjoyed taking part in the Times Table challenge Mrs Taylor has set on Sumdog.

This can also be played at home.

We will also be able to use laptops in our own class to enhance our class learning across the curriculum.

Now we know the link with Dundee and RRS Discovery. We can’t wait to play on the ” Discovery” in class.

We will need to dress up warm before we go exploring!
