We agreed that it was important to use a standard unit of measurement.
A metre is the same in Africa, America and Scotland!
How do these instruments sound?
We investigated how we got sound from these instruments.
What happened if we shook an instrument instead of tapping it? What happened if we blew an instrument instead of striking it? Did it make a different sound?
We had fun putting our use of alphabetical order into practical use.
Enjoy these games and practice putting words into alphabetical order:

This term we will be learning about sound. We shared our knowledge of sound and then enjoyed some listening games.
Could we guess which item behind the screen was making the sound?
We tried to guess which friend was speaking to us.
Later we went on a sound walk and identified different sounds in different places.
We were surprised to see that some places we thought were quiet had many sounds to listen to.
Following on from the Easter story we listened to the story of the journey to Emmaus.
We then acted out the story using the finger puppets we had made.
We have been remembering our learning from P1 and P2 about length.
We have been measuring items in the classroom using our feet, hand spans and for smaller items, paper clips.
We enjoyed re- enacting the story of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.
We have had great fun using grid references.
Use them now in these games:
