It was good to see everyone refreshed and eager to learn more this term.
We had great fun making Happy New Year cards- we hope you like them and the thank you letters we wrote.

We LOVE our Read, Write , Count bags.
We have had fun exploring the contents in class and this afternoon we got a chance to take part in sharing these activities with family and friends.
…..and we continue to get ready!
Its been so much fun performing the show…getting dressed up, singing the songs and remembering the Christmas story.
We are all feeling very Christmassy now!
A very excited P.3 visited Menzieshill library today for the launch of the exhibition showing the cards the children had made for a special person.
Vivian French cut the ribbon and the children were then free to show their work to their special visitors .
Every launch is celebrated with a little food and drink which we enjoyed too.
If you were unable to come along today, the work is on display for the next 2 weeks at Menzieshill library, after which the children will be able to gift them to their special person.
Use this link to see the children’s work https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/dd/bookcamp/2017/12/06/%E2%9C%8F%EF%B8%8F-write-from-the-heart-%E2%9D%A3-launc/
Many thanks again to Vivian for all her hard work, Moira and Elaine for organising this event, and the library staff for hosting this event.
We all enjoyed this writing and look forward to developing our writing further in the future.
We have been very busy……..
We have been putting on finger puppet productions of the Nativity story, reading Christmas stories and telling them to our cuddly toy friends, playing tinsel and holly snakes and ladders, and making Christmas decorations. Meanwhile the elves and Santa have been very busy in Santa’s workshop designing and making gifts, wrapping them in specially designed paper, compiling the good list, writing to our friends and of course decorating the workshop. Others have been busy completing Christmas jigsaws, wordsearches and making Christmas play dough feasts.
We are feeling very Christmassy!
Today we celebrated St. Andrew’s Day.
We learned about the life of St. Andrew and enjoyed an hour of Scottish dancing during our PE lesson. We finished the day making tartan Scotty dog bookmarks- ideal for our library books.
We had a lot of fun keeping fit last Thursday!
We played a game outside to practise our number stories of 12. One person jumped a number of jumps. The second person in the group jumped the number of jumps needed to complete the number story of 12. The third person in the group checked we were correct and gave feedback.
This was a fun way to reinforce our number stories and kept us fit too!
Joining in with this song and dance helps us learn the sequence of the months of the year.
