Primary 2 – Term 4 – Week 1

Good morning everyone!File:Face-smile.svg - Wikimedia Commons

I hope everyone is well. What a strange school holiday we had!

Well our adventure continues this term with more school learning done at home.

I hope you manage to find a routine where you are able to set aside a little part of the day to keep that learning going. Try to include a little literacy, a little numeracy and a little excercise each day. You might also want to include some making – cut and stick, drawing,  construction or helping a grown up with the preparation of games.

Now, I know Mrs MacPhail has said that some teachers are taking turns to work in the “hub” and our home learning will reflect that.  It is my turn this week , so I will post some work for you to do, but I will give work in more detail on days when I am not working in the hub.

So, ideas for this week.

Literacy

Please read!

There are so many lovely books to choose from on Oxford Owl

( login details on home learning folder) as mentioned last term:

https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/please-log-in

Just go to class login and select a book to read. Each book also has  2 activities .

Alternatively read a book you have at home. Enjoy!!

Please practise the sounds on your sounds chart. Choose one that is new to you. For pronunciation , please go to:

for set 2 sounds, or for set 3 use:

Play “schools” with your sounds chart ( in home learning pack). Point to the sounds for your family/ lego men/cuddly toys to answer!

Do the hold a sentence activity, described in last term’s posts.

Here are some more sentences fro those using set 3 sounds

( established yellow and grey groups):

i-e – I like to smile at the boy

o-e – He broke his phone at home!

u-e : I made up a tune to sing in June.

Select level 2 , then multiplication. How quickly can you solve the sums??

A little bit of excercise to practise counting in 5s:

Have you drawn a rainbow yet?

Mrs Taylor has tried to have a short walk each day and it cheers me up , as I am sure it does other people to see these lovely pictures in people’s windows.

The following sites have lots of activities which may be carried out at home,
