Happy star jumping !!

Literacy

You might like to practise capital letters and full stops today.

I know you are all amazing at using these P2, but here’s a little bit of practise:

Here’s a couple of games designed to help with matching capital letters to lower case ones. Most suitable for red/green /pink groups:

https://www.turtlediary.com/game/matching-upper-and-lowercase-letters.html

https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/rabbits/index.html

For the pink group:

Pink, yellow and grey groups try this;

You may need to enable flash on computer/device to let them play.

Primary 2 – Home learning day 2

Good morning everyone!

Hope everyone managed to spend some time yesterday doing some learning at home, and lots of smiles.

Today’s ideas to supplement your home learning pack:

PE

We will all be spending more time than normal indoors, so this link  might be a good way of keeping fit whilst having fun!https://www.youtube.com/thebodycoachtv

Joe Wickes is giving a live PE lesson each day at 9am , which can also be watched later on you tube.

Numeracy

Squares and Triangles might enjoy these keep fit songs to practise their times tables:

2 times tables

10 times tables

Have you played the times tables dominoes games from your pack? Hope you won!!

Circles group might like to practise their taking away.

Draw 10 football players in your jotter. Cover different numbers each time and ask a grown up to write the sum fro you to answer:

10 football players, cover 2, write 10-2=, you write the answer 8, etc.

If you have room you may be able to do the pretend keepy uppy game at the end of the clip.

I will give ideas for literacy later.

Primary 2 – Home learning welcome

Good morning.

This is all very new for us all. I hope you have managed to have a chat with a grown up at home about when would be a good time to do some learning at home and when might be a good time to play .

It would be good to choose a selection of learning, maybe a little numeracy followed by some reading and writing. If the sun is shining maybe try some of the activities we made up with a ball the other day in the playground ( and how a scrumpled piece of paper works for some games if you can’t find a ball). If it’s cold later how about some dancing to keep you active? Maybe you could try some new dance moves😀

There are a huge number of books available to read online at Oxford owl.

Log in under class login , details on front of your folder.

Roughly speaking the age 5-6 books are probably suited for our pink group, whilst the 6-7 books would probably suit the yellow group. The grey group might like the next group up.

Each book can be read by you, simply press turn to turn the page. There is a read aloud option too, if you want help or fancy listening to a story. Each book also has 2 activities for you to enjoy.

Have fun, happy reading!!

Remember, you are more than welcome to add a comment to tell us about your learning, or a question which I will try to answer a soon as possible.
