Primary 2 – Listening

Today we listened to one of the stories in our lovely Read, Write, Count bags.

We are getting very good at listening , remembering that we need to be quiet to listen and wait our turn to talk. Sometimes Mrs Taylor chooses some of us to tell the rest of the class what our partner has told us. Here are some photos of us sharing why we liked the story, with a partner:

If you would like to listen to a story ( without any pictures), maybe just snuggle up with a cuddly toy, you can find some short stories on this site :https://www.storynory.com/

Ask an adult to choose a suitable story for you.

Primary 2 – Jigsaws

We have been trying to complete jigsaws.

Some puzzles need to be sorted into pieces which have straight edges and are part of the border and those without which make up the main picture inside the border. We need to look carefully to match shapes and colours and check that pieces fit together.

We need to take our time and work carefully, learning to be patient and persevere.

Liam has been working really hard on this puzzle.

Some other puzzles could fit together in a number of different ways but only one way made a map of the world. We were very proud of our achievements in finding the correct solution.

Primary 2 – Sharing Numeracy

At our open event this morning we shared how we learn. We all played lots of games to support our learning and 2 groups investigated whether some sums they were given were correct or not.

Today we used tools to check whether they were right and some of us spoke about how we knew a sum was right just by looking at it and applying our knowledge. We will be developing this skill this term. All ready to go…..

Task completed and displayed for us to use.
