Today we learned that wheat is ground into flour and mixed to make bread.
We tasted different types of bread and acted the story of the little red hen, who made bread from wheat.
We learned that carrots grow under the ground.
We made sequence stories about the life of a carrot!
What fun we had learning about how oats grow and are harvested and processed. We enjoyed tasting oatcakes, cheerios and hob nob biscuits, all made from oats. We made pictures using cheerios and acted out the story that oats make from farm to our plate

We have used many tools in class to practise the letter formation of a, d and g. We know the stories about each letter formation and these help us practise writing the letters correctly.
a is around the apple and down the leaf, d is around the dinosaur’s body, up his tall neck and down to his toes; and g is around the girl’s face, down her hair and give her a curl.
Using rods and Numicon, we have investigated how the teen numbers are made up.
Counting is so much fun when we count in rhythm with sticks.
