As part of our homework we were looking for 3D shapes that we could bring into school to show our peers and see if they could guess what shape we had found. Well done to Harry, Georgia, Amelia and Tom P who found these fab shapes and spoke to the class about them. The shapes included cylinders, cuboids, spheres and a cube!

Bookbug Gifting Event
We had a great time sharing all of our literacy learning using the fantastic resources in our Bookbug bags. Thank you all for coming along and to our p7 buddies for helping also.
Our winning book was Station Mouse! Now we will just have to wait and see which story wins the overall Picture Book Prize early next year.
P1- Bookbug Book 2
P1- Happy 5th Birthday Daisy
Daisy turned 5 on one of the Inset days last week but don’t worry, we managed to get this lovely photo of the birthday girl with her two friends Georgia and Amelia.
P1- Writing for a purpose
Look out for your invitation to our ‘Bookbug Gifting Event and Picture Book Prize Ceremony’. Our buddies will be coming along too to help us to vote for our favourite story, before we get to take our Bookbug bag home forever!
We had a great time writing our invites today and decorating them before putting them into an envelope to give to our mums, dads and special grown-ups at home. We hope lots of you can come along and see what we have been up to in school with our Bookbug bags.
P1- Parent Numeracy Open Morning
We loved welcoming our grown ups into the class this week to share in some of the numeracy learning we have been doing so far this term. We hope they all enjoyed their time learning and playing with us!!!
Here are some action shots from the morning….
Primary 1- Our First Success Assembly as a Class
We were so proud and pleased with ourselves following our first performance on the stage as a P1 class at the success assembly where each class in the school shares their learning with the wider school community.
We sang 3 songs to showcase a little of our learning across the curriculum. We started with our ‘When I Know My Sounds’ song which we sing everyday in class to remember why learning our sounds is so important and the steps we need to take to be successful in learning these. Next we performed ‘I Can Sing A Rainbow’ in both english and french to show a little bit of our french learning his term with the help of Miss Douglas and her friend Amelie. Lastly we sang ‘Thank You God’ to celebrate all of the wonderful gifts we have to share with the world. We really hope you enjoyed our performance! 📚🌈🌍
Primary 1- Proud of our Achievements in term 1
We took time to share our ‘Story of my Learning’ books with our friends and our families yesterday. We were proud to show all of the wonderful learning, effort and achievements we have already made as big school boys or girls!
A huge thank you to all of the grown ups who came and gave such wonderful feedback, hugely appreciated!
First School Lunch
Before our first full day at school, we had the opportunity to visit the dining hall with our grown ups from home to try out the meals on offer. We learned to be independent- carried our own trays to the table we wanted to sit at and tried some new foods. We even tidied up our own things once we had finished! Looking forward to full days at school next week!
St Ninian’s – our school is like a big family
We have been settling so well into P1. We know that just like our family home, who love and care for us, our school family are there to keep us safe and help us to grow and learn. We have been sharing a little bit about our wonderful families at home with our class by creating our big family tree display. Thank you to our grown ups for sending in these lovely photos. Our tree is still growing each day as more snaps come in!
