Phonics – Practice all sounds on sound chart again.
We will use the Ruth Miskin (RWI creator) youtube live videos from yesterday to help today. I like to watch these beforehand to make sure they are suitable for us.

Focus on speedy reading and spelling using set 2 sounds with these videos. It does focus on ‘ow’ which we looked at last week but it wont do any harm to revisit and it does follow the routines we use in class.

Reading- 📚
- All learners login to your OxfordOwl account using the details provided on your ‘home learning folder’ and select a book to read or have read to you.
- Re-read your reading sheet from yesterday and see if you can read it a little faster but with a good storyteller voice! (Red- sheet 7, Green- sheet 16 and Pink- sheet 32
- Writing ✍In your blue jotter, above the ‘hold a sentence’ from yesterday, can you draw a picture of something that happens in your reading sheet. Or to challenge yourself, can you draw a sequence of pictures to show what happens in the short story you read? Try to include as much detail as you can. My advice would be to avoid felt tip pens as they will leak through to the next jotter pages! 😭
Don’t forget to schedule in some brain breaks. Maybe go for a walk to get some fresh air or use one of the brainbreak resources we have used recently. Here is one if you need it…

Mathematics – revision of time learning
- Sing the days of the week (tune: Adams Family) and Month of the Year songs
- Login to Busythings and play ‘The Clock – Demo 1’ that I have saved to your ‘favourites’ section and also do the Seasons interactive worksheet I have saved for you in the ‘My Assignments’ tab. These will remind you of some prior learning and help you to complete the next part of your time task today.
3. Complete pg.20 of your Early Level Maths Record Book.
Other Task – Expressive Arts
The boys in one of the videos in yesterdays lesson about friendship spoke about puppets. Can you use resources you can find at home to create your own puppet friend? If you do, give it a name and tell us why it is a good friend to have. Remember to send some photos of your wonderful work to me or the schools twitter. Have fun!
