P1 have been working very hard during their sound lessons. In literacy we have been writing all of the sounds we have learned so far in the playground! We used chalk to write our sounds and had great fun!

Miss Gordon has been teaching us lots of different ways to play tig! Our current favourites are airplane and disco tig. It’s lots of fun being able to play with our friends in P1.

P1 love being able to explore and play outside during their afternoon brain break. Look at us go!

P1 were very excited when P6 asked if we wanted to join them for their daily mile. After walking around the school, we took part in some friendly races with the P6s.

P1 were super fast and we had a lot of fun spending time with a different class.

P1 have been working hard during their music time with Mr McLean.

We have enjoyed learning lots of new songs and actions.  Lots of us have been working extra hard to always ensure we are listening and concentrating.

Our favourite part is doing lots of different types of voices, for example high, low, slow and fast.

It was such a lovely day outside that P1 decided to take their number work outdoors.

Everyone paired up with a partner to try to find 12 leaves, sticks and acorns.

We had lots of fun!

P1 have been busy learning which sounds they need to make new words. Here they are working very hard on their blending skills!

P1 have been busy thinking about Mindfulness this week. We try to focusing on our breathing and this helps to calm our mind.

Miss Gordon showed us how to do Bee Breaths but we thought she was being very silly and funny. After giving it a go ourselves, we discovered that it helped to calm us down and focus on our breathing. We decided that we like doing Bee Breaths.

P1 were very excited to learn all about the number 10. Here they are busy at work!

P1 were shocked by the discovery that a Giant had walked through our classroom during lunchtime. He had entered through the fire escape door and left through the magical door to Fairytale Land.

We decided to use the footprints that he had left behind to measure objects around the classroom to see if they were longer or shorter.

Then Miss Gordon said that we should go outside and find more things to measure! We were really excited and we had a lot of fun finding new items to measure against the Giants footprints.
