Ruby celebrated her 5th birthday on Tuesday, what a busy day she had performing in two shows! Well done Ruby! Ruby picked a card from her classmates and told us all about her gymnastics party she had at the weekend, sounds like lots of fun!
A Visit from the Police
This term our topic has focused on the people that help us in our school and community and on Friday we were very lucky to have a visit from PC Morag, PC Patrick and PC Ryan from Lochee Police Station. They brought police outfits with them for all the boys and girls to wear and we even got to try and handcuff the police officers! We asked them some questions that we had already discussed with Mrs Paton and then they took us outside to their big van. We were able to sit in the front and back of the van and try the siren, it was so loud! The boys and girls really enjoyed this experience and we have drawn some thank you pictures to send to the police station.
Bookbug Gifting Event
Thank you to everyone that came along to the Bookbug Event on Thursday afternoon, the boys and girls have thoroughly enjoyed these three books and were excited to share all of their fantastic learning with you. Gorilla Loves Vanilla was voted as our class favourite, however we need to wait until January to find out the overall winner!
Here is the link to the author video of Gorilla Loves Vanilla since we had some technical issues on the day!

Proud of our sounds!
This week in literacy we have been working so hard and have now learned all of our set 1 sounds! We have been writing these in our jotters and also writing some words that contain our new sounds. We then worked together to sound out and read some words. Well done boys and girls!
Our fantastic decorations
On Friday we spent time looking at all of the fantastic decorations the boys and girls have been busy making at home, they are wonderful! We then added them to our tree outside the classroom and sang some Christmas songs. Well done boys and girls!
Day 6 and 7 of kindness
Kindness continues in Primary One and Andrew and Mirren both gave us their ideas of how we can be kind. Andrew said we can hold the door open for others and Mirren suggested we give our friends a hug when they feel sad. Great ideas!
Day 5 of showing kindness
Our fairy left a treat in the calendar for Mason yesterday and he suggested that we can all be kind by smiling at everyone we see, well done Mason!
Literacy work with our buddies
During literacy time yesterday we did some more work with our buddies for the Bookbug event. We read the third book with our buddies, spotted some ‘wow’ words and then worked with our baby photographs, it was lots of fun!
The boys and girls are really looking forward to showing everyone all of their fantastic work at the Bookbug event, this takes place tomorrow, Thursday 7th December at 2pm. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Kindness continues..
Our Kindness Fairy has been busy over the weekend and when we came in this morning she had picked three more children to open the advent calendar. Here are Weronika, Grace and Lennox with their ideas for being kind.
Weronika said we can be kind by saying please and thank you, Grace said we can help our friends when they fall and Lennox thinks we can be kind by sharing our toys. Well done!
Our Kindness Tree
Primary One came in on Friday morning to find a Kindness Tree on the wall outside our classroom, it was very exciting! We have been visited by a Kindness Fairy and every day leading up to Christmas she is choosing a boy or girl to take a treat from our advent calendar. She left us a little letter explaining that she would like us to think of how we can be kind to each other and those around us.
Sophie was the first to be picked and she said we can be kind by tidying up, even if it’s not our mess, well done Sophie!
