Chatter Tots

Next Tuesday we would like to invite the parents in the 2 year old room to come along and join in with Chatter Tots with your children. Chatter tots is aimed to support your child to develop their speech and language, play and communication skills. This will start at 8:45 for the AM session and 12:30 for the PM session. Hope to see you then!

Imaginative Outdoor Learning

Sophie, Ruby, Aurora and Olivia decided to build a car in the garden. This then got changed to a house. Lots of planning, working together and decision making followed. This involved lots of hard work, rolling tyres and carrying crates. The house was amazing. The girls then decided to chill out together. Well done.

Patterns.

We are learning about pattern and shape. We have been using sparkly stones, pasta and kidney beans to follow the different lines. We have also been sorting the different materials into the correct tubs. Aren’t we clever?

Recognising letters and writing our names.

In nursery we have been “writing” using a range of different media. We can even write in the mud outdoors or at the sand tray. Some of us can recognise our names and can copy and write them. We have been learning the first letter of our name, and looking for this in the nursery environment. We can even look for it in magazines, charts and car registration plates. Letters are everywhere.

Hungry Caterpillar’s

We have been learning about the life cycle of caterpillars in the 2’s and learning the story of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. Today we painted our very own caterpillar’s.

We also have our very own caterpillars in nursery and every day we are watching them grow and grow and soon they will spin their cocoons and turn into butterflies. Look how big they are!!

Bumblebee hospital

The nursery had a special visitor this week, a poorly bumblebee. The nursery children enjoyed being able to get a close look at the bumblebee by using a magnifying glass. Everyone was very brave, even the nursery ladies!!! We have now set the bumblebee free after it had a little rest and felt much better.

Building dens and tents in the garden.

We were building tents and dens in the garden. First we had to push the bamboo sticks into the ground. It was really tricky so an adult had to help. Then we had to tie them all together with string. Finally we pegged some material around the bamboo. We love our tents, we can hide, look at books and chat with our friends. Fantastic fun.
