Singing is a good way of developing a child’s speech and language skills. In the nursery we do a lot of singing!!!! We have a hello song ,which we sing at the beginning of our session. The song allows the children to learn each others names, and there own. We also have a goodbye song for the end of the day which helps the children to understand that the session is over and it is now time to go home. We love singing lots and lots of songs, especially baby shark. Attached are two videos, one of our hello song and the other a great rendition of baby shark. Enjoy 🙂

Splish, splash, splosh!
Some of our 2 year olds “loving” the rain. ☔️
Resilience.
We try to build resilience into all of our nursery children🤗
Having resilience, enables children to bounce back from change or cope with challenges that may prove difficult👍
Teds Target
This is Ted, he is our nursery bear. We need to look after him and show him that we can be kind and responsible children. Ted encourages us to be responsible citizens. Each week we will have a Teds Target to follow in nursery. This weeks target is “To look after the nursery things”. 😃
Our speedboat
These four nursery boys decided to build a speedboat, but not just any speedboat. It had to be one that could fly and go fast. The teamwork and working together was just fantastic. Some of the materials were very heavy and the boys supported each other to lift them. They showed excellent focus and planning ability. The speedboat had a big motor on the back and comfy seats. Just right for super adventures into the unknown. I am just so impressed😀. Well done boys.
November Learning
It has been a busy week in the 2’s room. We have been learning all about fireworks and poppies. On Monday we created our fantastic firework wall. We watched a video about fireworks and pointed out all the colours we could see. We discussed how the fireworks could be very loud and that we had to be safe when we go to watch them. For the rest of this week we have been talking about the colour red. On Thursday we watched a short video which introduced the children to remembrance day and the significance 0f the poppy. The children were able to identify that the poppy was red. On Friday we created a fantastic field of poppies and again watched the short video. This time the children were able to recognise the poppies and the colour red. Well done everyone.
Autumn Party
We had lots of fun at our Autumn party this week. We all dressed up, some as witches, ghosts and spiders, and had lots of fun taking part in games and activities. We had a finding activity which involved searching through squidgy jelly or slimy spaghetti to find spiders and insects galore. We played musical bumps and pass the pumpkin. We had a party food snack and did lots of dancing. We ended our party fun by watching Room on the broom. We all had such a fun day.
