November Stay and Play Day

It was a busy Stay and Play in Nursery today, and it was the last one of 2017. The children were excited, and knowledgable when showing their adults what they have been learning in the nursery. We hope everyone had a fantastic time. We value parental participation, and we would like to thank you for your lovely comments left in our book😀

Pine cone hunt

We needed some pine cones for our art and craft activities in the 2’s room. We decided to go on a pine cone hunt around the school. We found lots of pine cones on the ground  in front of Mrs MacPhail’s and Mrs Rollo’s offices. We then had a wee walk around to the outdoor classroom. It was freezing and we wished we had some cosy hot chocolate to drink. Next time😀

Creating our forest🌲

In nursery we are creating a forest for the nocturnal animals we are learning about. First of all we painted a huge piece of card, then we worked together to gather leaves in the garden to glue on. We also had fun jumping in the leaves. Luke thought they sounded”crunchy” when he stomped on them. Owls, mice, hedgehogs and foxes are some of the animals we will be investigating.🐀

Nursery Party

On Tuesday we had our Autumn party. The children looked “spooktacular”. We had witches, vampires, ghosts and a mad scientist. The children enjoyed many Halloween activities. We had minibeasts hidden in slimy jelly and worm spaghetti. Witches and wizards could be found creating magical potions in the water area and overnight ghosts and skeletons had visited the garden this required some investigating. The children used special ghost hunting torches to find out how many skeletons had hidden themselves in the garden. We all had so much fun.
