Welcome

WELCOME FROM THE HEADTEACHER

It is a real pleasure and absolute privilege as the Headteacher of St Mary’s RC Primary School to welcome you to our school website.

St Mary’s is a truly unique school with a long history of successfully providing education for the community of Lochee. Our school is opens from 9am until 3.15pm. We also have families coming to school before school and after with a breakfast club and after school club.

We pride ourselves in making our children feel special and being able to nurture their talents in all areas of the curriculum.

I am passionate that we create a truly outstanding school built on secure foundations of excellent teaching, creative curriculum and high academic attainment and progress for all learners. We have high expectations of our children and set challenging targets for them. Every child is encouraged to maximise their full potential and we recognise that every child is special and has their own contribution to make.

The staff at St Mary’s RC Primary are dedicated, hardworking and experienced. We provide a calm and caring atmosphere in school and we foster a hardworking ethos based on an enjoyment of learning. We expect a great deal from our children and they do not disappoint us.

We recognise that parents play a vital role in the education of their children and as such we welcome your support and co-operation in making your child’s time at St Mary’s RC Primary the very best it can be.

It is my vision that the children of St Mary’s leave us in Primary 7 as happy, successful, articulate, aspirational and empathetic young people, eager for the next stage of learning in their lives and respectful towards the exciting differences of cultures in modern British society.

Together we will make St Mary’s RC Primary an exciting place for your child; a one where they will continue to learn, grow and flourish.

I hope that our website will inspire prospective parents to visit St Mary’s RC Primary as we are always happy to show the work of our very successful school.
