We have seen lots of imaginative role play going on in our nursery garden. We have seen a café with drinks being served at the picnic benches and lots of “cheers” taking place. In the mud kitchen we have been cooking up delicious treats. We had to move our frying pan around so food didn’t burn and we also made good use of the “ingredients” om offer. Imaginative play is good for developing language, imagination, being creative and developing social skills.

Bathbomb fun
We discovered a strange looking ball in our tuff spot. The ball smelt and felt different. Using spray bottles filled with water we investigated what this strange ball could be. Once water was applied it began to fizz and change shape and colour. Hidden inside were stars, which took us by surprise!!! We enjoyed feeling the texture of the ball and smelling the different smells, and watching the different colours. We also discovered that our hands turned blue in the water!!! Our bathbomb provided lots of experimenting, investigating, developed our language through discussion of textures and smells and more importantly was lots of fun!!!
Fun in a box
We have been having lots of fun in a cardboard box. Lots imaginative and creative play was going on in our box. Our box was a car, a rocket, a place to read our books and a place to have lots of fun with our friends. A simple cardboard box can be a million ideas.
