Hello everyone!
Here is an activity to try that will keep you busy for a long time and will help you become familiar with the money that we use to pay for things. If you have a change jar or “penny jar” at home, tip it out and have a look at the coins. Have a chat with a grown up and see if you notice the numbers on the them. This tells us how much each one is worth. See if you can sort them out into piles of each coin. You could use a cupcake tin to sort them, or little dishes, or even just into piles on the floor. Which coin do you have the most/least of, etc.
Remember to wash your hands afterwards as pennies have lots of germs on them.
Have fun! 😊
Hello boys and girls.
I hope you have been using the nice sunny weather we have been having recently, to make the most of being outdoors. I have a fun activity for you to try either in your gardens, or using any outside space around your home. The idea is to make a ‘bug hotel’ to provide a home for lots of different insects. You can use anything to make your hotel, like old bricks, stones, sticks, old building materials etc. You can give your hotel a name and make a little sign for it too, so that the bugs know where to come!
Have fun everyone! 😊
This is a great idea. Create your own nail/beauty salon at home. You can use paints, crayons, pens etc instead of nail polish, but if you have any old bottles of nail polish this would be fab too! Why don’t you draw around your hands and feet ? Get creative☀️🌈
Hello everyone!
I know how much you all enjoy building things at nursery and we usually have lots of different construction materials available for you to explore. Lego is always very popular and I know many of you have Lego at home too, so I saw this cool Lego challenge online with a wee project to build every day. Use your imagination and get going! Using Lego bricks helps to get your fingers ready for writing too.
Have fun! 😊

A fantastic photo of all of the children together. Excited, happy and looking forward to Christmas parties and Santa visiting. Hopefully we can create a new photo of all of our wee friends together again very soon. Xx💜🌈
Good afternoon everyone!
I have another interesting activity for you to have a look at. Edinburgh Zoo is closed at the moment, but they now have a facility where you can watch some of their most popular animals on a live feed webcam. You just click on the link below, select which webcam you want, and you will have lots of fun spying on the animals and having a nosey at what they are up to. Maybe you might want to draw a picture of your favourite animal?
Have fun and enjoy the weekend! 😊
Hello everyone!
It is another beautiful day and I have another activity for you to do at home with your grown ups.
Birds are fascinating to watch and the sound of them tweeting and chirping away always cheers me up. I saw this ingenious idea online for a homemade bird feeder, which I thought would be a great way to be able to encourage birds in to your outdoor space and to be able to watch them from afar.
All you need is an empty milk carton, some string and some bird seed, or even stale bread. If you have some sharpie style pens, then you could decorate the front to make it look like a little house. I’d love to see some photos of your bird feeders if anyone would like to send them in on Twitter.
Have fun and stay safe boys and girls! 😊

Hope everyone is staying safe and having fun. At nursery slime is a big hit with all the children. Usually we make our slime with PVA glue but I have a couple of recipes for easy edible slime which myself and my teenage daughter have tried and tested whilst stuck at home. The recipes are as follows:
JELLY SLIME
Ingredients: Cornflour, shop bought jelly sachets and water
Method
– Combine the powders in a bowl with a fork, stir in the water. It might seem a little solid but after a lot of kneading (with your hands) it becomes good stretchy consistency for playing with.
– There are a range of different fruity jelly flavours to choose from, so can be pink (raspberry) red (strawberry) or green (lime)
MARSHMALLOW FUNFETTI SLIME
Ingredients
Cornflour, icing sugar, mini marshmallows, vegetable oil, vanilla extract and sprinkles to decorate!
Method
– Melt the marshmallows in a large heatproof bowl in the microwave for 30-50 secs, until melted, stirring after 30 seconds.
– Stir in the oil and vanilla, mix well and then stir in the cornflour and mix again.
– Add icing sugar and stir in and now knead until flexible. If it feels a little sticky, add in the rest of the cornflour.
– Use extra cornflour for the surface if you need to, having a little veg oil to hand is good to keep your hands sticky free. Knead and play. Add some cake sprinkles for a funfetti effect!
Hope you have lots of fun trying out these different slimes and remember its ok if children put in their mouths as there all edible. Enjoy and if you do try them out we’d love to see some pics. Keep safe, keep smiling, stay happy.
A fun learning activity to do at home, have fun👍
Find some household items, pots, pans, spoons, cups etc, lay them on the floor and see how many things you can create( with some adult help). Animals, shapes and patterns are a good starting idea. Get busy👍💜
