In PE, we re-did our assessment to find out how much our fitness has improved.
This week, we had our Christmas Craft Fair.
In maths, we did our 3D shape assessment.
We did experiments about taste and smell. We tasted lemon, sugar, coffee and salt to find out if they were sweet, salty, bitter or sour. We smelled peppermint, cinnamon and coffee. We had to smell and taste 3 different coloured liquids – it turned out, they were all water.
This week, we made sticky ooze in our topic lesson. It was a science experiment about the sense of touch.
In maths, we have been learning about the nets of 3D shapes. We made our own out of paper.
We have been writing autumn acrostic poems, using the word autumn.
In RE, we have been learning about Advent. We know that the Advent colours are purple and pink. Advent is the time when we wait for Christmas – when Jesus was born.
This week, we have been learning about staying safe on bonfire night, including being safe using sparklers. If you have a sparkler, you should hold it away from you and wear gloves.
In maths, we were learning about 2D and 3D shapes – we made lots of shapes out of sticks! We talked about the differences between 2D and 3D shapes. We know that 2D shapes are flat.
During PE, the primary ones joined us for fitness stations. We were trying to encourange them to keep going!
This week, we have been learning about the brain. We know that you can’t survive on your own without your brain. Your brain has 2 sides (hemispheres). The right side controls the left side of your body and the left side controls the right side of your body. Your brain is in charge of all the parts of your body.
We have been doing some addition. We learned how to partition numbers e.g. 33 would be 30 and 3.
Maths group 3 have been learning about families of sums.
Today, we took a walk outside to use our senses for literacy. We will be writing a poem about Autumn.
