Friday 27th September

This week, we learned about the kidneys, bladder and liver.

We learned that when you’re hydrated, your urine (pee) will be light yellow. If you’re dehydrated,  your urine will be a darker yellow.

In maths, we have been learning estimating.

Today was Fab Fit Friday. We met a man who worked in the ambulance service. He taught us how to do CPR. We also did Tai Kwon Do. We made our own fruit kebabs. We learned some football skills on the grass.

Next week, it’s parents night and it’s a short week. We finish on Thursday for the holidays!

Friday 20th September

This week, we have been learning about the organs in the body.

We have been learning about the Eatwell plate, we did a sharing assembly on this. The Eatwell plate tells us how much of different foods we should eat.

We have been doing more work on rounding (to the nearest 10 and 100) and estimating.

We have been throwing, catching and rolling in PE. We call these sending and receiving.

We have been learning about the human body – we have a skeleton, we have muscles, we have organs. When we are babies, we have 300 bones and by the time we  are grown up, we only have 206. this is because as we grow, some of our bones join together to make bigger bones.

We have been using our counting sticks outside for maths.

We have been doing our Daily 15 outside to help us stay fit.
