The following set of instructions is a guide for Blackness staff<\/strong> creating a new Team to be used for issuing\u00a0 homework to their classes. Please follow the instructions to ensure all Teams <\/strong>are created equally.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part 1 – Creating the Team<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log in to Glow, click on the Blackness Launchpad<\/strong>, click on Teams App<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Click on Install Web App<\/strong>, click on run<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Choose Join or Create a Team<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Choose Create a Team<\/strong> then Class<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Name the Team with your registration class (e.g. 4a), a space and then your name (e.g. Mr Cameron)<\/li>\n
  6. Click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Part 2 – Populating the Team<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Click on the Glow-Launchpad<\/strong> tab at the top of the browser<\/li>\n
    2. Select Management Console<\/strong> at the top of the Glow page<\/li>\n
    3. Select the Student<\/strong> option from the choices<\/li>\n
    4. Select your year group (e.g. P5 (20\/21)<\/strong>) in the drop down menu where it says Student<\/strong><\/li>\n
    5. Highlight the Username of the pupil you want to add to Teams, right click on it when highlighted, then select copy.<\/li>\n
    6. Click back on the Microsoft Teams<\/strong> tab in your browser, right click in the Search for Students<\/strong> box, choose paste.<\/li>\n
    7. Repeat for all your pupils.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Part 3 – Creating the Channels<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Click on the ellipsis beside the Team name, choose Create Channel<\/strong>, name the channel “Chat<\/strong>“<\/li>\n
      2. Repeat this step and create 2 new channels called Useful Websites<\/strong> and FAQs<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Click on the ellipsis<\/span> beside Useful Websites<\/strong> and choose Manage Channel<\/strong> (Screenshot 1, below)<\/li>\n
      4. Change Channel Moderation<\/strong> to On<\/strong>, un<\/em>check Allow members to reply to channel messages<\/strong><\/li>\n
      5. Repeat for FAQs<\/strong> channel<\/li>\n
      6. Repeat for General<\/strong>, but you just need to select Only owners can post messages<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Part 4 – Adding Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n

        1. To add homework, Click on General Channel<\/strong>, then click on the Assignments<\/strong> tab at the top.<\/li>\n
        2. Click on Create<\/strong> and choose Assignments<\/strong> from the 3 options that pop up.<\/li>\n
        3. Add title and instructions.<\/li>\n
        4. Click on Add Resources<\/b>, choose Upload from this device<\/strong> and find your file for homework grid stored on PC. Click on Attach.<\/li>\n
        5. Immediately under the Date Due<\/strong> and Time Due<\/strong> boxes there is an option to edit<\/strong><\/li>\n
        6. Choose edit<\/strong> and set the time the Assignment will be live for pupils and when the closing date will be for submission.<\/li>\n
        7. When finished, click on Assign for the assignment to go live or Save to continue working on it later.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
