Dundee Schools Music Theatre is gearing up for another busy year of show business!
The S3/4 cast are busy developing the musical “The Wiz”. This is a modern and funky take on the classic “The Wizard of Oz”. The timeless tale of Dorothy’s adventures in the Land of Oz is set to a dazzling, lively mixture of rock, gospel and soul music. This show is sure to have the audience dancing in the aisles as Dorothy & her friends head on down the yellow brick road!

DSMT Back To Back company are facing one of the biggest challenges DSMT have faced yet. This multi award winning adaption of the original chart topping album tells the compelling tale of a boy traumatised into catatonia. As an adolescent, he is discovered to have an uncanny knack for playing pinball, a talent that puts him on the path to international superstardom. The story of the pinball-playing, deaf, dumb and blind boy who triumphs over his adversities has inspired and amazed audiences for more than 40 years. Our Back to Back cast have approached this show with outstanding dedication and maturity. It is simply a show not to be missed.

Dundee Rep Young Illuminate and Youth Theatre

Young Illuminate is Dundee Rep’s Youth Theatre for young people with additional support needs. This Spring we will oer a FREE six week drama programme specifically for secondary school pupils with additional support needs. It will start on Thursday 18th May 6-7pm at Dundee Rep.

This is a great opportunity for young people of all abilities to engage with theatre in this fun, safe and supportive creative space. For parents, the cafe will be open so you too can enjoy some time and space whilst your young person is in youth theatre.

Places must be booked in advance and we would encourage you to contact us regarding any aspect of your young person’s needs, to support their participation.

We also have a regular Saturday youth theatre for children of primary school age with additional support needs that takes place on Saturdays from 2.30-3.30 pm. As part of our Rep Youth Theatre programme, a small fee is charged for classes but supported places are available for families facing financial difficulties. This is a fun and nurturing group that supports participants to make creative decisions and develop confidence within group working.

To book for either session, please contact Karen Robertson on
