In our co-operative learning groups we researched Dundee landmarks. We used iPods to research about landmarks  like unicorn,discovery and the Dundee law. We got a sheet that had 3 categories. The titles were, where they are, interesting facts and historical facts. My group found lots of facts. we found it easy doing the researching.

In P7/6 we have been learning about pixelated pictures we have done some pixelated pictures in our class the pixelated picture was a natural scene and it looked really cool. 

We also did some sowing we drew a picture and then we tried to do the same thing but in  sowing it looks like a real pixelated picture it was cool. 

We have also been learning about landmarks in Scotland and were going to build are own landmark on Minecraft are group are doing Tannadice it’s going to be so fun,we have learned a lot about landmarks and I think it will be a lot of fun building some of the landmarks in Scotland. 

BBC Build it Scotland is where you get to create where you live in Scotland using famous Landmarks which are in your City . In Dundee we have many Landmarks to represent our City. So we where chosen into Co-Learning groups to Decide which Landmark each of us did. My group decided on The new railway station- so its going to be a little bit tricky to make it the exact same- as the new railway station is fully built yet. For Build it Scotland we`re using Minecraft To build our City!

I`m looking forward to seeing the end results of our City, as it will also be fun going into Minecraft  and seeing our world finished as Dundee! We are also doing it  for our Topic which is Dundee. This Project is really helping me know Dundee better – as I`ve only just moved here!

Over the past couple of days we have been learning about pixelated pictures, we needed to at first make a picture on a non squared paper then put it on to a gridded piece of paper. There couldn’t be any straight lines I found this quite difficult I struggled on making every line straight but it was fun and I would to it again.

In class i have been doing pixalated pictures. first i drew a plan on a natrual scene i drew a sun, 3 mountains, 1 fox and trees. Then we took a squared paper and copied it on to the squared paper. I changed some things but it looked nice. I  colourd in everything in. The sky and grass took forever to colour in but then i finished. It looked like an old video game. Maybe next time i think i will stick to my plan

First I had to plan my picture on to A3 paper so I know what it would look like. Then once I planned it I had to do it on squared paper. I put in 3 mountains, 1 apple tree, 1 long stream and birds. But next time I’m going to try to include animals and like some flowers. I will also try to make my picture a bit more pixelated so it looks better and more old game. It looked really nice at the end though and neat. I hope we do more stuff like this or related to it.

So during the year we will be doing a project, a project about building Dundee and we are doing it in Minecraft.  We have to build a landmark from the city like the Caird hall, Dundee law, the Tay bridge and the Overgate. We will work in groups from P7 and P7/6. When it is done it will get 3D printed and be on BBC.

I think its a good idea and I look forward to visiting landmarks as well as building them. I also think doing it on Minecraft was good because it is extremely popular most people know a bit about it. We are looking forward to this.

I did OK but I found it hard, I put a tree in the middle of it and I put in some water, a fish, an otter jumping off a rock,  the sun setting and some birds in the sky. In my plan I didn’t put the sunset in but I thought it would look nicer.
