Mangamanuthu Village

We went for a walk around Mangamanuthu village, which is supported by both St Paul’s and St John’s.  It was lovely to meet the villagers and to see the houses which the schools have provided.  It was great to see houses now standing on the ground which was blessed when we were here in 2013.

Goats!

We were asked by various people to present money which they had collected to the Brothers, in order to buy goats for some of the villagers in Mangamanuthu – so here are the goats!

Visiting the Classrooms

We spent the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon visiting classrooms at the school.  It was really good to see the science block fully complete and fully in use.  In 2013 when we last visited the land had been purchased but there was no building, so there is a big difference in the school now.

Off to Mangamanuthu

We spent the night at PU, and before we left we got up very early to celebrate Mass at the church in the village and we had an opportunity to see some of the children again and to present gifts for the schools.

We started to miss our friends at PU before we even got on the bus!

Evening in PU

We went for a walk around PU village in the evening before dinner.  This was a great opportunity to see where the young people live and to meet some of their families.  We visited the homework club which is run by the Brothers in the evening, and provides 2 hours of extra tuition every night for children.  Mrs Allan, I think we have found next years Interact fundraising challenge!

The children at the homework club had been practising their singing and dancing for our visit.
