{"id":801,"date":"2016-08-17T09:12:31","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T09:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/cl\/tillicoultryps\/?page_id=801"},"modified":"2022-01-28T07:40:30","modified_gmt":"2022-01-28T07:40:30","slug":"parent-council","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/cl\/tillicoultryps\/parent-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Parent Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<h6 class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>The Parent Council is an elected group of parents with the<span class=\"x_apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">main duty to represent the views of all the parents at the school (the Parent Forum).\u00a0We do this by:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Supporting the work of the school<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Organising social and fundraising events<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Promoting contact between all parents and the rest of the school community<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Discussing anything that\u2019s of interest to parents<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Ensuring all parents from different backgrounds are listened to and understand what the Parent Council does<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Parent Council meetings occur once a term and are public meetings, open to all members of the Parent Forum.\u00a0 Opinions from the parent forum are greatly appreciated. If you have a specific issue that you would like raised or you would like to bring to the PC, then please let the Chair or other PC member know about this in advance.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">It is not the role of a Parent Council to tackle individual issues however, if you have an issue that is effecting you then it could be an opportunity to look at the whole school policy in that area and see if that policy has been updated recently or how it is implemented.
