We’ve had another fantastic week of learning in P3Y!
Miss Young was so impressed with our writing this week. We have been learning about the use of adjectives, nouns and verbs in creating descriptive sentences. We have also learnt about the 4W’s of story writing – When, Who, Where and What. Using the 4W’s means we remember to add in lots of detail so that our readers are engaged and excited by our stories.
In maths, we have been learning to divide. We have used concrete resources to help us solve worded problems such as, ‘If Lucy has 18 sweets and she wants to share them equally between her and her 2 friends, how many will each person receive?’ Our first step was to count out 18 counters, draw 3 groups on the paper, then share the counters into each group, one by one, until we have used them all up. We’re learning to convert worded problems into written questions like 18 ÷ 3 = 6.
In IDL this week, we have been learning about Emperor Qinshihuang’s Terracotta Army. We learnt some amazing facts about the army and created travel brochures that we think will convince lots of people to visit (when safe to do so of course!)
We hope everyone has a brilliant weekend!
Miss Young and P3.
