This week in P5/6

This week in Primary 5/6 we have had a busy week.

In Numeracy we have been creating our own games about rounding to the nearest 10/100/1000. We were learning how to round and add numbers together to get an estimate.

We also did a mini assessment on what we have learned about rounding.

In Literacy we have been making a mind map for Ahmet who is one of the main characters in our class novel – ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’. “I really enjoyed the book because it was fiction but was very realistic” (Tyler).

We were also learning to look over and edit our personal stories from last week.

In IDL we have been doing a fact hunt about space and the planets (Murray and Megan). We made a ring wing glider and compared them to paper airplanes. “We found out that they go further and they don’t need thrust” (Callum).

Some of the P6 pupils videoed their House vice-captain speeches. We will find out the results next week.

In French we watched a video of ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ and wrote down words that we already knew in French.

On Friday morning we had our first virtual Superstar Assembly and these are the people who were awarded certificates in our class: Callum, Kacyleigh and Emma. Well done to you all!

We had a busy but enjoyable week.
