What is the UNCRC?

UNCRC stands for the ‘United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child’. In Scotland, these rights are protected in law through the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024, helping to ensure children’s rights are respected in schools and across public services. We use the UNCRC to help children, families and staff understand and respect the rights of every child.
