Our Policies

We are aware many of our inherited policies are in need of a refresh. Educational research, Scottish Law, policies and practice  have moved on since adopting these policies. Therefore, we are in the process of systematically reviewing our policies.

Relationships Policy

A move from behaviour management to positive relationships has been underway over the past two years. This started in 2017 with training on attachment theory, nurturing principles and the Clackmannanshire, Readiness for Learning approaches. Staff will be trialling the relationship policy until the end of December 2019. We will also be working with focus group of parents, staff and pupils to consult on the effectiveness of this policy. Any changes required will be reflected in the final policy.

Once adopted this will form the basis of Strathdevon School’s Anti Bullying Policy. It is anticipated this will be published over the course of the 2019/20 session.
