Following the big bang, swirling clouds of helium and hydrogen formed stars. The stars then collected into billions of galaxies of billions of stars. Our galaxy is called the Milky Way and our sun (Sol) is one of of its stars.

We have now been looking at the planets and other bodies that make up our solar system.

We have learned the names of the planets and the order that they lie in from the sun. We looked at a memory trick to help remember the right order. We are now researching the individual planets to find data and facts about them which we will present to the rest of the class.
