Today’s lesson carried on from looking at the arrangement of particles that make up solids liquids and gases. We did three experiments to look at how easy it was for particles to move in solids, liquids and gases.

For solids, we left a piece of jelly with a coffee granule on top. We will check tomorrow to see if the colour has spread.

For liquids, we put food colouring into a boiling tube of water. We will check tomorrow to see if the colour has spread.

For gases, we mixed a brown gas a colourless gas. We did not to wait at all – the gases mixed straight away. This showed that the particles in gases were able to move much more easily that solids and liquids. This is because the particles are moving much faster and the spaces between them are much bigger.

Last week we had a test, we were mixing chemicals together to get a chemical reaction. Then we had to write down what we saw.

I enjoyed mixing chemicals and seeing all the different results!!!!

I enjoyed learning how to use a Bunsen Burner.

I learnt how to use a bunsen burner , I also learnt the hottest flame and wich flame becomes the hottest the fastest. I think i did quite well in the assesment . Next time i will try to explain more on what i see in the experiment.

I think i done well in the assessment because i got a C and i enjoyed the assessment overall.

I will try be better at recording the change in the chemicals.

I learned how to measure liquids more effectively and how to be safe in a lab.

I mostly enjoyed the chemicals and burning things with the Bunsen burner.

I enjoyed using and mixing different chemicals to see the results.

Most of the results were different.

• I enjoyed using the Bunsen burners to boil the water.
• I learned how to move around a lab safely.

• In science i enjoyed working with the bunsen burners.
• The skills i learned were to use safety googles when using bunsen burners.
• I will try and remember all the safety rules.

• the thing we both enjoyed most was doing all the experiments 😉
• skills we learned was how to be safe in the lab, measurement in ml measured volume and mass too!
• i think we both did well we could have put more description in them though
• next time we both will put more description in our assesments to try and get a higher grade

• In science i enjoyed lighting the bunsen burners and doing other experiments with it .
• I learned how to measure volume with a rubber and water. 
• I feel i did well with my assessment.
