Awards for the Redwell Nature Explorers!
Congratulations to all the pupils, parents and members of our community who have been helping us with our grounds since April 2018, we now have successfully achieved Levels 1 and 2 of the RHS School Gardening Achievement Awards. More information about this can be found here School Gardening with RHS
This highlights that we understand the benefits for pupils of gardening and have planned, grown and developed the planters by the classrooms as well as tackling the weeds in the vegetable beds. With certificates, a calendar and book to help us we are getting inspired to grow even more in the coming year we hope to gain our next level very soon.
Cheers,
The Redwell Nature Explorers and Gardening Group
MacMillan Coffee Morning
The National MacMillan Coffee Morning event will take place on Friday 28th September from 9:30 to 11:00am in the school dining hall.
As part of our school curriculum we have incorporated opportunities for classes to lead on whole school events, to develop their confidence and leadership skills. Primary 3 classes will also be extending their understanding of charities through this experience.
Children are also encouraged to come to school on this day dressed in casual clothes for a small donation of 50p per child or £1 per family.
Any donations of home baking would be greatly appreciated and can be handed in to the school office on Thursday 27th September.
We look forward to welcoming parents, carers and members of the local community to this worthwhile event.
