Thanks very much for our volunteers on Fridays for getting started on weeding the raised beds in the playground. A great job and so much easier while chatting with a well-deserved cuppa and cake at the end.
The P6’s taking the photos were certainly keen to see these areas developed next term so, no matter your age or level of gardening skills, we would love it if anyone in the local community/ parents could join us every Friday afternoon from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.
The gardening group would also appreciate any donations to support their development work in the school gardens. Any plants, especially herbs, heathers and seedlings/ seeds. Maintenance items such as general compost, bark chippings would also be appreciated.
Looking forward to welcoming any new members to the gardening group on Friday. All very welcome!

At Redwell we actively promote and monitor the attendance of all pupils. It is part of a national priority to ensure that all children achieve their potential through attending school consistently throughout their academic life, from P1 onwards.
An interesting statistic shows that if your child’s attendance is at 90% from P1 – S5, this equates to one month per year, which in turn means the loss of a whole academic year in their school life. It is therefore very important that you work in partnership with the school to ensure that: ‘Every school day counts, Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!’
In November we introduced the Groupcall Xpressions App to parents as a new way of the school communicating with you, with no cost. We are delighted with the number of parents who have downloaded the App and are receiving text messages and emails free of charge.
If you have not done so already, please ensure we have your correct mobile number and email address on our school database to ensure you can access the App. Please contact the school office if you require any further information and/or support.
