During week beginning Monday 26th of February, all pupils will be taking part in a variety of activities to celebrate Literacy Week at Redwell. There will be several opportunities for parents and carers to visit school and get involved! These include:
P1-P3 Family Reading Time – Yellow Wing Area

Reading Project Workshop – Purple Wing
Come along and find out about the Reading Project Redwell is involved in along with Strathclyde University. Monday 26th of February, 2.30 – 3.00
Read, Write, Inc workshop – Primary 1S Classroom
Find out more about some of the strategies used to teach phonics, reading and writing. Tuesday 27th of February, 9.15 – 9.45
Green & Purple Wing – Book & Blether (Thursday 1st March)
Parents and Carers of children in the Green & Purple Wings are invited to join their child for a ‘book & blether’ in the wing open area on Thursday 1st March from 9:00-9:30
There will be tea and coffee available too so come along and join in the reading fun! Feel free to dress up in a book related outfit today too as it is World Book Day!

Remember your child can dress up as their favourite character from a book for World Book Day on Thursday 1st of March.
The Parent Council are holding a Bingo evening at Paton’s bowling club on the 8th of March. Tickets are £2 each, if you would like tickets then please complete a form and return it along with payment as soon as possible. Tickets for the event are limited and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
In order to maximise the amount of money we raise for the school through this event, we are appealing to the parents of Redwell for any unused or unwanted Christmas gifts, or anything else you have that would be willing to donate to our bingo and rattle prizes. Any gratefully received donations can be handed into the school office.

As part of our upcoming Literacy Week we will be taking part in World Book Dress Up Day. Children are invited to dress up as a Book Character. Look out for more information coming home soon!

We have developed parent information leaflets which provide an overview of learning within Numeracy and Mathematics at each level of Curriculum for Excellence. The leaflets also suggest how you may support your child’s learning at home.
