We have new school documents and leaflets available to download. Please click on the links below to view them.
Our colourful ‘Tree of Achievement’ is awaiting new leaves and we would encourage all children to share their success stories with us so that we can photograph them and add their leaves to the tree. If you have an achievement to share on behalf of your child please inform the school by email or phone call so we can celebrate!
Any achievement, whether large or small is suitable. From a sports award to climbing a hill to helping a relative! Please share the good news!
We have a small group of parents, carers, grandparents and members of the local community who regularly volunteer within Redwell. We are keen to extend this group this session and would welcome new volunteers to take part in such activities as: helping in wings and classes, working with small groups of children, preparing resources, organising the library areas or helping out at Sports Events. Miss Hamilton will be hosting an informal Volunteers Coffee and Chat’ in school on Friday 29th of September at 9.15am so please come along if you are interested in becoming a Redwell Volunteer to find out more.
Redwell has a Breakfast Club every morning from 8.30am at the cost of 82p a day (paid daily). Please ask your child if they would like to join us for Toast, Cereal, Milk or Tea.
Children attending the breakfast club should be dropped off at the main entrance, where Mrs Reid or Mrs McFarlane will collect them. Food is served until 8.50am so please ensure your child arrives by 8.45am to enable them time to eat and enjoy their breakfast.
After Breakfast Club, children in P1 and P2 will be escorted along to the Yellow Wing whilst our older children from P3 upwards join their class lines outside just before the bell rings at 9am.
We are delighted to be taking part in a project called the ‘Alloa Community Story’. This is being led by David Smith from the Smith Art Gallery & Museum in Stirling. All classes will be studying a topic this term which links to our local community and the historical/industrial influences that make Alloa how it is today. David will be leading aspects of this learning in each class.
Our P7 classes will be developing a script and performing a story which will tell the story of Alloa in the past through to modern day. We will be hosting this show for all parents, carers and members of the local community on Wednesday 4th of October 7.00pm to 8.00pm. More information will follow shortly.
Friday 29th of September
An invitation is extended to all parents/carers, grandparents and friends to make a contribution to our Harvest Assembly on Friday 29th of October which will have a Harvest Theme.
During the week beginning 25/9/17 we will be collecting various items (mainly packets and tins of groceries or fresh fruit and vegetables) which will be donated to The Gate charity. Please send any donations to the school office by Friday 29th September.
Unfortunately due to lack of space in our school hall, we can only accommodate our pupils for this particular Assembly but we will post photographs of the celebration on our Twitter feed.
We look forward to receiving a ‘bumper harvest’ next week. Many thanks!
Coffee Morning & Non-Uniform Day
We will be taking part in the annual MacMillan ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ on Thursday 28th of September (9.30-11.00). This is a fundraising event for the wonderful work of the MacMillan Cancer Support Charity. Our P3 Classes will be supporting the running of this event.
Cafe and refreshments will be on sale for a small donation in the school dining hall and all parents, carers and friends are welcome to come along and take part. To add to our fundraising on this day, we will also have a Non-Uniform Day. Children are encouraged to participate by making a donation of 50p or more to come to school in casual clothes.
We are looking for any donations of baking for our coffee morning event and would be delighted to accept these on Wednesday 27th of September. Thank you in advance for supporting our fundraising for this very worthwhile cause.
P7 children will take part in their residential trip to Lockerbie Manor this weekend. Follow this link to view information and photographs on our Lockerbie Manor Blog…Lockerbie Manor Blog
