Week ending 15th of June

Good afternoon everyone and thank you for visiting our blog.

This week has been busy in Primary 1 as we have been helping Miss Stephens to deliver Read, Write, Inc. workshops to our nursery parents. We helped to teach the parents all about how we learn to read and write in primary 1.

We have been learning about fractions this week. We learned to recognise a half and quarter of a pizza, and share cubes equally into different groups.

We also made special cards this week. If you’re lucky, you might get one on Sunday!

In our Science lessons we learned about what animals eat. We learned that some animals eat plants only and they are called herbivores, that some animals eat meat and are called carnivores and some animals eat both and are called omnivores.

In our Health lesson we learned all about how to look after a baby. We found out that babies cry when they are trying to communicate, that they need to have milk for the first six months after they are born and that they need lots of love and attention.

We also got to do something very special on Friday afternoon. We got to meet a little foal and mare! Mrs Wilson from the office, her daughter Lisa and her father in law brought their little pony and her mother in for us to meet. They were both so cute and some of us got to touch them! Here are a few photos.
