We were all pleased to be back after our surprise days off. Today we spoke about all the things we got up to on our snow days. It sounds as if you were all very busy having fun in the snow, sledging and building snowmen. If you would like to share any photos of what you did, we would love to see them.
Today we went outside with our buddies and hung up some bird feeders so that the birds would still be able to have some food. We tried to take some photos but Miss Dryburgh had forgotten to charge up her camera…
I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes. I hope you all enjoy the holidays and I will see you in January.
Thank you to all the parents for coming to see us perform in our Nativity. We had lots of fun doing it. I’m sure you will agree the children did a fabulous job. Here are some photos from the performances.
This week we have been learning about Autumn. Yesterday we talked about what happens at Autumn time and what changes we see. Today we went on a walk around the school to find different types of leaves. Then we matched them up to find out what type of trees they were from. We found lots of leaves of different sizes and found that they were from Sycamore and Birch trees. After that we drew an Autumn picture on the netbooks. Can you find other types of leaves on your walk to and from school or in your garden?
Today we made some cakes for the Coffee Evening tonight. We had some help from P6 and P7 and we made some crispy cakes and top hats. Please come along to Coffee Evening tonight from 7-8.30pm and buy some of our cakes. They are dee-li-cious! 😀
This week we have been learning how to play dominoes. We decided to take the big dominoes out to the playground for a big game. It was lots of fun but then the wind blew them all over so we decided that we were all winners 😊
Yesterday we celebrated European Day of Languages by taking part in a whole school assembly. Each class learned a song in a different language. Mr Pennie’s daughter Ellen helped us learn a French song. It was called Tourne Tourne Petit Moulin. This means Spin Spin Little Windmill. We were brilliant. Ask us to sing it to you.
Thank you for all your comments on our posts so far! We love reading them. Sorry for taking so long to reply to them as they are coming through to the spam folder so I didn’t see them. I will remember to check there from now on 🙂
