The video with photos from the past year will be posted on to Google Classroom.

Last Daily Vlog from Mr Scotland in P6 25/06/20

Thursday, and your final day of P6. We’ll do one last call at 10am today.

It has been a pleasure to teach you all again and I’ve had so many great memories from this last year. My ultimate highlight (of my career I might add) was the last day we had in school in March before we closed. It was fun and emotional and the party in the playground is something I hope we can all recreate really soon.

End of Year Assembly

Watch the last day assembly with awards, songs and messages from staff. Was a pleasure to produce this end of year celebration and hope you enjoy it.

Mr Furzer has also made a video with photos from the past year and this is available on Google Classroom too.

Menstrie’s Got Talent

If you haven’t watched this already, get on Google Classroom to watch this. Its amazing.

Summer Activity Grid

I’ve worked with Miss Bryden to create a summer activity grid to keep you busy (if you wish). This is on Google Classroom too for you to download.

Swap Contacts

Keeping in touch with friends is so important so I’d also like you to use today to swap numbers and e-mails with others. Please use Google Classroom and secure e-mail for this. Also don’t post publicly as everyone can see your details. But this is a great space for you to share.

Google Classroom

I’ll keep the P6S classroom active over the summer as a space where you can chat and share your work. But you will likely see an invite to join your new class too.

And Finally…

You are all fantastic and a great team and group of friends. Not just a class.

So have a safe and happy summer but most importantly, thank you. Thank you for being an amazing class. Next year’s class has lots to live up to.

Oh… I have to finish with one last joke of the day..

Why didn’t the orange win the race?

It ran out of juice.

Mr Scotland’s Daily Vlog 24/06/20

Wednesday, and your second last day of P6.

Details for next year on their way soon so watch this space.

Today is also on one the highlights of the Menstrie Primary calendar… It’s Menstrie’s Got Talent Day! The link will be posted on Google Classroom.

Like this week so far, we’ll have our big task and a mini task today.

Big Task – Star Moments at Home

  • What have been your highlights. Create a design with large stars an write or draw your star moments in the stars.
  • I’ve uploaded a template to Google Classroom that you can either print or design on Google Slides.
  • Remember to share your creations of the Google Classroom stream.

Mini Task – Ickabog by JK Rowling

  • I started this book and now you can finish this over the summer as new chapters are posted. We have so far covered up to chapter 6 so you can jump straight to chapter 7 and find out what happens next in the kingdom of Cornucopia.
  • Read the text at https://www.theickabog.com/read-the-story/

Remember to visit the virtual classroom is you need access to key tools and help. Click here.

And finally, today’s joke of the day is…

What did the big flower say to the little flower?

Hi, bud!

Mr Scotland’s Daily Vlog

Tuesday, and only a few days of P6 left.

Like yesterday, we’ll have our big task and a mini task today.

Big Task – Design an Environment

  • You have been asked to design and environment for special plants and animals.
  • Remember that living things need water, light and air. Nutrients and Food. You need to make a habitat that will support the living things you put in it.
  • You can draw this, build it, make it, write about it. It is totally your choice.
  • The full guidelines are posted on your Google Classroom this morning.
  • Remember to share your creations of the Google Classroom stream.

Mini Task – Random Act of Kindness

  • Drop an e-mail to one of your peers, message your friends and family, do something for them. Surprise someone with a moment of kindness. This could be someone in your home or someone in the class.
  • Think about who has helped you out at your table when you were in class and how it made you feel. Drop them a message to say thanks, create a picture for them online. You could even post on the Class Stream if you wish.

Remember to visit the virtual classroom is you need access to key tools and help. Click here.

And finally, today’s joke of the day is…

Why do bees have sticky hair?

Because they use a honeycomb.

Mr Scotland’s Daily Vlog 22/06/20

Monday, and it is the FINAL WEEK of P6.

This week will be a little different. Each day (Monday to Wednesday) will have a big task and a mini task. And Thursday will be our last day video call and assembly day.

I’ve left the transition tasks up from last week so you can do tweaks and finish off if you haven’t already done so.

Again my availability might be a little strange this week as I’m in hub on Wednesday and working on a few projects for the end of year, but if you send me an e-mail I will get back to you.

Big Task – Ten Star Hotel for Kids

  • You have been asked to help change a large, run down hotel into a ten star hotel for kids. This will be absolutely luxurious and fun experience for any child that comes to stay. The people running the hotel are going encourage 9-11 year olds to stay. It costs a lot of money to stay in the hotel but once a child has paid, everything inside is free.
  • Click here to access the slide with key information to help you create your Ten Star Hotel.
  • You can draw this, build it, make it, write about it. It is totally your choice.
  • Remember to share your creations of the Google Classroom stream.

Mini Task – Memories (Task from Mr Pennie)

  • Can you think of the best memory you have of your class this year. Can you please post it on this padlet, remember to include your full name and your class. Thanks! Mr Pennie

Remember to visit the virtual classroom is you need access to key tools and help. Click here.

And finally, today’s joke of the day is…

Why are ghosts bad liars?

Because you can see right through them.
