Parentzone Scotland is an unique website for parents and carers in Scotland, from early years to beyond school.
The website provides up-to-date information about learning in Scotland, and practical advice and ideas to support children’s learning at home.
Information is also available on Parentzone Scotland about additional support needs, how parents can become further involved in their child’s school and education, as well as details about schools including performance data for school leavers from S4-S6.
Over the past few weeks concerns have been raised by some parents/carers regarding lost school uniform, gym kit, shoes, lunch boxes and water bottles.
If school staff or pupils find belongings in the playground or at the end of the day they will look on labels for a name and return the item to the pupil or their class teacher.
We would be grateful if you could please ensure that all belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name so that this can happen as quickly as possible.
Any items without names will be kept in lost property so that they can be claimed. We will put any lost property on a table at the main entrance during parent interviews so that it can be claimed.
We encourage all children to be responsible for their own belongings and those of others by clearly labelling belongings, putting items in bags and trays and taking home items at the end of each day.
We are proud to announce that Deerpark Primary School has been awarded Makaton Friendly School Status.
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order.
For the last year, Primary 2 children have been learning different Makaton signs, singing songs with Makaton signs and teaching two signs of the week to the whole school during assemblies. Click here to see who our signers of the week are.
