A Busy Day in P5

Some of our learning from today. We completed some multiplication and division tasks focusing on using a variety of strategies to solve these calculations.

We started our class novel Get Me Out Of Here this week. We looked at a visualisation strategy today using information from a text to create an image.

Lastly we were using Scratch to learn about programming.

Literacy

We went outside today and picked five things.

We then wrote short poems trying to include two adjectives on each line. We worked well with a partner.

STEM

Today we spent time building structures and objects out of Kinnex, Lego and Magnets.

The children were responsible to planning and designing what they were going to build and working as part of a team.

The also organised their resources to create a variety of objects and structures.

They created a variety of things from diamonds, kites, rockets, towers, submarines, different animals etc

Discrinination

Over the last 2 days P5 have been looking discrimination. We discussed, what discrimination is, different types of discrimination, why the was wrong and what we could do to help someone who feels they’re being discriminated against.

We made a variety of anti discrimination posters after our discussion.

Today P5 started writing a story using an old John Lewis add about Moz The Monster as inspiration. We will hopefully share our finished pieces with you!
