Welcome to P2\/3 with Miss Petherbridge\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have been very busy in P2\/3 since\u00a0<\/span>returning to school in August 2020<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>P2\/3 have been<\/span>\u00a0ge<\/span>tting used to being back in school during such uncertain times. We have put a big focus on o<\/span>ur health and wellbeing through learning\u00a0<\/span>mindfulness<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>techniques<\/span>, recognising our emotions and building<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>relationship<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with each other<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>P2\/3 have made great progress in their learning, h<\/span>ere is some of the activities we have been doing in the class and outdoors!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In numeracy w<\/span>e have been working hard on<\/span>\u00a0learning new strategies to help us with counting,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>addition and subtraction.\u00a0<\/span>Using concrete materials<\/span> has helped to support our learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have had lots of fun taking our numeracy lessons outdoors!<\/span><\/p>\n

We have been busy learning our\u00a0<\/span>letter sounds in our Jolly Phonics programme. We learn group sounds and practice blending them in words.\u00a0<\/span>Our phonics strategies have not only helped our spelling but have helped us to decode words in our reading. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ou<\/span>r class novel this term is The Lighthouse Keeper<\/span>\u00a0s<\/span>eries. Through this we have been learning about the structure of stories.\u00a0<\/span>It has\u00a0<\/span>also<\/span> provided a great base for exciting drama,\u00a0 <\/span>science<\/span>\u00a0and STEM\u00a0<\/span>projects;<\/span>\u00a0w<\/span>e\u2019ve buil<\/span>t<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>electric\u00a0<\/span>circuits and\u00a0<\/span>carrier\u00a0<\/span>prototypes<\/span>\u00a0to help\u00a0<\/span>our character\u00a0<\/span>Mr Grinling reach the lighthouse<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
