The Jacobite  has reached the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

Mrs Petrie says ‘What is a viaduct’?

‘Its a bridge with lots of arches’, said Holly.    ‘Its got a long span’ said Ella

‘Its made of stone and bricks’ said Mackenzie      ‘It carries cars and trains across valleys’ sais Ross Sutherland.

We have also talked about swing bridges.  Ava says ‘Kincardeine Bridge is a swing bridge’.

We have talked about cantilever and suspension bridges.  We will talk more about them next week.  We are also going to make a model of a suspension bridge next week.
