Natural Disaster News Report

For homework we had to research a natural disaster. For example: avalanche, tornado, sinkhole, volcanoes, tsunami, blizzard, hurricane, flood and forest fire. Then we took it in to school.

In school we were put in to groups of people with different natural disasters. The groups were of about 4 or 5 students. In our groups we picked a news reporter. The news reporter would open the show and close it. They would introduce every speaker. The speaker would talk about their natural disaster. The news reporter would get to have 2 names because they don’t want people to know that there are the same person. You then pick an order for your news broadcast. The order is for when you speak.  Then you would write a script. Your script would have what you are going to say. Your group would have different disasters each. After you finished you need to go and practice. Once each person is ready, you practice as a group. Then we showed it to the class before going on to create our news broadcast green screen.

We shared our green screens for the whole class which was very funny and embarrassing for everyone! We hope parents will get a chance to see the green screens (Mr. Flett thinks they look brilliant!)
