Storyboards

In P7F we have been looking at graphic novels and comics. We looked at the style they were written in and tried to make our own storyboards. Each one of our storyboards were unique and fabulous. to make your own storyboard here is how to make it:

What you will need:

  • Scrap paper
  • Pencil
  • Rubber
  • Color pens or pencils
  • Ruler
  • Backing paper (any color and make it slightly bigger than the actual thick piece of card)
  • Thick A3 piece of card

Instructions

  1. First plan out your storyboard and make sure you use a ruler to make the boxes straight and regular.
  2. Secondly plan out what is going to be in each box.
  3. Once you are happy with your draft you can then go and make your real copy
  4. Take your thick piece of card and draw the boxes onto the card and remember to use a ruler.
  5. Next draw in your pictures using different types of shots. To see the different type of shots go to the bottom of the page. You can also add speech bubbles
  6. Now color in your pictures.
  7. Lastly stick your thick card to the backing paper. Ta Da !!

Different shots:

Wide shot- this is the shot that shows the whole scenery.

Close shot- this shot shows only the character’s face

Extremely close shot- this shot only shows the character’s eyes.

Well done you have made your own storyboard!
