Our class novel in class this term is called Twister. It is about 2 boys called Ben and Angelo. Ben goes to see his older friend named Alec. Alec lives in a house near the seaside. Angelo lives near Alec’s house so the 2 young boys hang out a lot. One terrible evening there a horrific storm heading their way. Angelo’s dad is very rich so the 2 young boys got a flight to Miami which they hoped was safe…

Well it wasn’t safe!!! You’ll have to ask a Primary 7 to find out more.

Some activities we have done to do with twister are: mindmaps, link-maker and word detectives. We created mind maps on Ben and Angelo and also for the highjacker, using words from the book to support our descriptions. We also did a link-maker where we looked at any links between what was happening and our lives and any links in between our emotions and the character’s.  We have also dida word definition challenge with some hard words from the book. We had to figure out what the words meant from the context of what was happening in the book. Some of those words were: perplexed, methodical, spawned, indistinct and rendezvous – pretty tricky words!

We have had lots and lots of fun reading Twister and can’t wait to find out what happens at the end!
