It’s important you know how to use your school library to support your studies. In S1 and S2 you will spend time with your librarian developing these skills, by the end of S2 you should be able to do the following;

-Find a fiction book in the library using the authors surname
-Find a fiction book in the library of a particular genre
-Find a non-fiction book in the library using the Dewey system
-Perform a basic search using the library catalogue
-Perform a basic search using an electronic resource

You should also have an understanding of the following;

-The role of libraries within schools and colleges
-The role of public libraries within the community
