We have been talking about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
We thought about how the articles related to our school life.
Our class charter shows the articles we found most relatable to school.
We had a vote to decide what theme to make our display and the winner was Emoji!
Miss MacFarlane made the phone message using the articles we chose and we all made an emoji for the display.
We have since noticed that lots of the rights relate to the SHANARRI health and wellbeing indicators we have been learning about in HWB.
Primary 4 can you remember what any of those letters stand for and share examples with your parents?
We watched P5/6’s Eco Code video from last year to remind us about it.
We discussed the key themes:
Transport
Waste
Water
Health and Wellbeing
Biodiversity
Litter
Energy
Sustainability
Then we worked in pairs to write an acrostic poem including the themes.
Finally we worked collaboratively to make our final poem from all the pairs’ ideas.
We have been discussing the Mill O’Forest HEART values:
Honesty
Equality
A Caring Attitude
Respect
Trust
We had lots of ideas about how to demonstrate the HEART values at school.
Each person chose one example to draw in a heart for our class display and the finished product looks great.
Well done, Primary 4 🙂
