{"id":57,"date":"2022-01-18T10:08:24","date_gmt":"2022-01-18T10:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/as\/ltaaberdeenshire\/?page_id=57"},"modified":"2022-02-28T11:51:11","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T11:51:11","slug":"aberdeenshire-council-self-improving-schools-system","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/as\/ltaaberdeenshire\/approaches-to-self-evaluation\/aberdeenshire-council-self-improving-schools-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Aberdeenshire Council Self-Improving Schools System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Aberdeenshire Council, within the context of the Empowering Schools agenda, will be promoting the development of a sustainable and self-improving school system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Individual schools have been invited to work in collaboration with the lead officers, and each other, to co-produce a structure and process for a self-improving school system that will:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Raise attainment and achievement and improve outcomes for all children and young people.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Enhance learning experiences for children and young people, embedded within Curriculum for Excellence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Build skills in self-evaluation for self-improvement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Encourage collaborative working within, between and beyond establishments<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Build leadership capacity and provide opportunities for system leadership.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Develop a shared moral purpose and collective responsibility for all children and young people in all our communities across Aberdeenshire.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The fundamental beliefs that underpin this programme are the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Schools and their partners have the expertise and experience to tackle the challenging circumstances they find themselves in by sharing and working together.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Taking a school partnership approach provides opportunities for leadership development and capacity building throughout our school system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Strengthening partnership and collaboration between schools and across local authorities is crucial to releasing and maximising our combined potential.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">A Microsoft Team for Self-Improving Schools has been set up for further information.
